In 1976, a boy named Ramon Luis Ayala Rodriguez is born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Nobody in that hospital hallway knows the name the world will eventually shout instead. For now, he's just another kid on the island.

Childhood – early 1990s: Kid from Villa Kennedy projects
He grows up in the Villa Kennedy housing projects, a tight grid of concrete buildings and open courtyards. This is where he learns rhythm, noise and neighborhood loyalty. Every corner here is a classroom.
Early 1990s: Baseball hopeful, Mariners tryout
Before music, his dream wears a glove. He wants to play professional baseball, and he actually tries out for the Seattle Mariners. In his head, the future is a stadium infield, not a studio booth.
Early 1990s: Shot on a studio break
One night he steps outside during a recording session with DJ Playero, just to take a break. A stray round finds him. In a single instant, the athlete's path closes.
Early 1990s: Over a year recovering
Recovery takes more than a year. Bed rest, silence, and a whole lot of time to think about what's left. Later he says that wound is exactly what pushed him all the way into music.
1992: First track on Playero 34
In 1992, his voice lands on DJ Playero's Playero 34 mixtape with So' Persigueme, No Te Detengas. It's raw, it's underground, and it's the first time strangers hear him. The tape starts moving hand to hand.

1990s: Buzz builds with Playero 37
Then comes Playero 37, and suddenly his name travels further than his street. Donde Mi No Vengas and Yamilette put him on people's radar. The underground starts to recognize him.
1995: First solo album: No Mercy
In 1995, he steps out on his own with his first official solo project, No Mercy, released through White Lion Records and BM Records. His name is on the front now, not buried in a tracklist. The apprenticeship is over.

1990s: Underground years before the boom
Through the rest of the nineties he keeps showing up on DJ Playero's underground mixtapes. There are no global charts for this music yet, no world tours, no radio welcome. He's building a genre before the world has a name for it.
